In this regard, AMQA may obtain your personal data through various means, such as a form, participation in one of our campaigns, and requests to receive information about our activities.

AMQA protects and guarantees the security of your personal data by using appropriate technical and organizational security measures and the following provisions:

03.01. Guidelines

03.01.01. Responsible data management

The Helping Hands Association (AMQA) manages personal data respecting the data subjects' right to privacy and in accordance with the rules established in applicable national and international regulations.

Furthermore, it respects, protects, and fulfills individuals' rights to personal data protection in the processes of information, collection, analysis, storage, presentation, and reuse of personal data, prioritizing the values of transparency and accountability.

03.01.02. Processing of personal data with prior consent

The Helping Hands Association (AMQA) recognizes that program participants and others involved may feel pressured to provide data and considers that they may not be fully aware of the implications of providing it. Therefore, AMQA is committed to minimizing risk to participants by respecting their right to be heard, their right to privacy, and their right to informed and voluntary consent.

The Helping Hands Association (AMQA) ensures that personal data it holds can only be processed with the consent of its owner. Furthermore, it recognizes that consent must be free, prior, express, informed, and unequivocal. In the case of sensitive data, consent must be in writing.

It does not allow any collection of personal data by fraudulent, unfair or illegal means.

AMQA ensures that personal data is processed in accordance with the consent provided. Use for purposes other than those for which it was collected will only be subject to anonymization or dissociation.

03.01.03. Clear and objective purpose

When we collect data from individuals, groups, or organizations, we provide a clear and transparent explanation of why we collect it, how we will use it, who we will share it with, how long we will retain it, and how we will protect it.

AMQA guarantees that the data it collects is for a specific, explicit, and lawful purpose, and therefore undertakes to clearly and unambiguously express and specify the purpose for which the personal data will be processed.

AMQA staff should not collect data if they do not need it or do not know what will be done with it. We also recognize the need to minimize the amount of data we collect and retain to reduce the risk to the people we work with and to AMQA.

03.01.04. Promotion of personal data quality

AMQA will implement the necessary mechanisms to ensure that the personal data provided by the data subject and processed must be truthful, accurate, and, to the extent possible, up-to-date, necessary, relevant, and adequate for the purposes for which they were collected.

03.01.05. Protection and security in the management of personal data

03.01.06. Data protection and use of technologies

AMQA recognizes that data management tools and approaches are becoming more sophisticated, datasets are more frequently combined, and it is easier to identify individuals within a dataset, creating a privacy risk. As these technologies are increasingly adopted in the humanitarian and development space, it is critical that we remain aware of the potential risks to vulnerable groups so that partnering decisions and the use of these technologies are made with the best interests of the individuals and the organization in question in mind.

03.02. Rights

AMQA is committed to implementing the necessary procedures to ensure that all personal data subjects can claim and assert their rights when these are violated.

03.03. Safe and adequate cross-border flow

AMQA guarantees that the cross-border flow of personal data only occurs when there is a sufficient level of protection for personal data, or at least comparable to that provided for by this Law or by related international standards. In cases where the recipient country does not have an adequate level of protection, AMQA guarantees that the processing of personal data is carried out in accordance with the provisions of this Law.

03.04. Processing of personal data of children

AMQA will only process the personal data of children with the prior consent of their parents or guardians and after dissociating or anonymizing the children's personal data.

The principle of the best interests of the child in the management of children's personal data will be given primary consideration, and an interpretation and application will be sought in accordance with this principle and the particular circumstances of each case.
